We are The Prague Hibernians ('The Hibs') and we are Prague's GAA Club.

New members are always welcome to join (no experience necessary) and to experience Irish sport, culture and to build friendships with people from all over the world who play our national games.

Training is all year round (location depends on weather - you'll get used to it round here)

We offer:

Plus lots of social events, including shouting at matches on the TV!

Based in Central Europe, our nearest rivals are 4 hours away. So it's a little different to home. Our competitions are based on tournaments held in the different (football / hurling) codes between April - October. This means we get to travel to many places including: Berlin, Rome, Warsaw, Dresden, Copenhagen, Munich, Vienna + + +

April 13th Two full squads (mens and ladies) attended the Warsaw Tournament. A cold start to the season saw both teams finish 6th. A good start for the newbies!

Directions to Riverside School:
From Dejvicka metro station (green line) take the bus 107 or 147 to Roztocka. This is a REQUEST STOP and is just after the roundabout along the river.
The buses can be picked up right out of the metro entrance towards 'Jugoslavskych Partyzanu'.
At Roztocka, walk down the stairs, turn left and follow the road along the river 5 mins.
The old Junior High School is on the left, turn left up U Sedlecke Skoly. The access is from the back parking lot (just next to the bubble).
Another transport option is TRAIN to Praha - Sedlec. Trains go from Masarykovo Nadrazi or Holesovice - check as not all stop at Sedlec.
There is a path from the platform that comes out around the back of the school to the green gate access.

Kids GAA Training Saturday
Following on from the success of the Prague GAA open day, we will now be holding training each Saturday morning at 11am @ Tipsport arena Holešovice. It will be indoor training.

Kids GAA - Introduction and training !

The Hibs are delighted to announce that we are hosting an introduction to Gaelic Football and the GAA for children from 5-14 years.
The intro lesson is part of the first annual Prague GAA day and trainings will then take place every Saturday (indoors at TipSport arena).

All are welcome to join the fun!

The Hibs at Ausgburg - June 3oth
Saturday June 30th, saw some Hibs play at the 3rd round of the Central European Championship and while the results for the Hibs (or Mayo) may not have gone our way, a great day was had.
.
In blistering heat the fantastic Hibs played out of their skins, scored wonderful points, great saves, yelled at refs, drank beer and made new friends. Also got lovely 'Irish' suntans.
We also go some silverware with a trophy (for chief yeller at refs, she says), and one of the players of tournament.
Our next tournament will be in Berlin in September. And this time we will wear sunscreen! #HibsAbú #wegoagain

Saturday May 26th The Hibs head to Bratislavia for the second round of the championship!

Bringing two very strong teams. Including a full Ladies team, the Hibs are hoping to make a HUGE impact... and not just on the dancefloor!

Scavenger Hunt May 12th
Join The Hibs Saturday May 12th at Beckett's Irish Pub for our annual scavenger hunt.
From 1pm teams will compete to solve clues, discover interesting facts, complete a range of tasks and enjoy Prague on a beautiful day in May!

Teams of up to 6. 150kc per person.
When in Rome...
The Hibs just returned from a beautiful couple of days in Rome... oh and a tournament too.
​
Unfortunately sunburn rather than silverware has been brought home, but Hibs can hold heads up high with some great performances by both teams.
​
Onwards and upwards to Bratislava on May 26th. Hibs Abu!
ABOUT THE HIBS
The Prague Hibs were formed in 2009. Getting its name from Czech capital and the ancient links with Ireland.
​
Now, almost a decade later The Hibs have grown in size and socialising.
​
We now have players from all over the world including : Ireland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, England, Australia, Spain, Korea, Lebanon, Canada, USA, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, France and also a guy from Wexford.
​
A family away from home with friends for life, The Hibs offer a warm welcome to Prague!
